Shocking Senence

The arrest and the sentence of 20 years of a journalist in Sri Lanka has shocked human right activists and media watchdogs. this judgement follows the recent human rights violations in the Sri Lankan army war against the LTTE has confirmed the worst fears of the human right watchdogs and the international media about continuing human rights violations in the island nation.
In the entire South Asia and South East Asia there are dark spots as far as the rise of dictatorship and human rights violations is concerned. Now there is a growing demand in India and mainly in Tamil Nadu that India should not send its cricket team to Sri Lanka in the 1st week of September. Will it serve any purpose. boycotting of the sports events has not helped in the past and there is no point in stopping the team to tour the island nation. Instead ground should be prepared to put forward the views diplomatically and in a cordial atmosphere.
