The recent terrorist attacks have thrown serious questions of our very existence with threats looming everywhere and no place or time is secure for the common man who has to toil very hard to earn bread for himself and his family members. We consider ourselves lucky when we return to our homes safe in the evenings after successfully overcoming the imminent threats everywhere, be it the public transport, streets and the office premises.
Are our leaders safe? Yes, they are, they got a very tight security at the cost of our insecure life. They get away with every criticism, every political manoeuvring and every effort to appease the minority vote bank, in the process no matter losing their self esteem and stooping down shamelessly to morality ladders.
All the hue and cry over the Mumbai attacks will die down in two-three weeks and the problem will remain unaddressed and taking monstrous proportions. Where is the solution?
In the specific case of Mumbai terror strikes, the clear and present danger and the vulnerability of terroritorial waters was highlighted well in advance by our intelligence agencies, still the the unfortunate incident happened due to sheer negligence and apathy of our Navy and Coast-Guards. Now the blame game has started with every agency blaming the other. There is no dearth of ideas, manpower and policy execution agencies. What is really lacking is the will power and lack of coordination at every level, not to forget meddling and hampering the fight by our morally-devoid politicians.
